CHANDIGARH: The Counter Intelligence (CI) Pathankot has foiled a foreign-based targeted killing plot with the arrest of its two operatives and recovered two sophisticated .30 bore pistols along with 10 live cartridges from their possession, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said on Friday. Those arrested have been identified as Ravinder Singh alias Dhillon, a resident of Dhilwan in Batala and Jashanpreet Singh, a resident of village Bal in Gurdaspur. Apart from recovering pistols, police teams have also impounded their brand-new Splendor motorcycle, which was without a registration number. Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused persons were working at the behest of a foreign-based handler and had recently arrived from Dubai to execute the assigned task. The DGP said that further investigation is underway to uncover the backward and forward linkages of the network to identify other operatives connected with the foreign-based handlers.
