Chandigarh: The Engineering Department of UT Administration reviewed preparations for the forthcoming Chhath Puja festival at Sector 42 Lake to ensure the safe, smooth and orderly conduct of the celebrations. CB Ojha, Chief Engineer, Engineering Department, who visited the lake along with departmental officers and representatives of the Purvanchal Welfare Association, inspected the lake premises and assessed arrangements for the safety, security, cleanliness and convenience of devotees expected to gather at the site to perform traditional rituals. The preparations include the installation of CCTV cameras, setting up a 24×7 control room for round-the-clock surveillance, and providing adequate lighting with power backup to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during the festival. Ojha directed the concerned officers to complete all necessary works within the stipulated time and maintain effective coordination among departments to ensure that all essential facilities were in place before the commencement of the festival.
